After receiving several messages from God that she was destined to make this journey, a woman travels to Kenya, Africa, on a mission trip and spends much of the two weeks feeling lost and alone. One Woman’s Trip to Africa – My Story In August 2006, I had the opportunity to fulfill a life-long dream by going on a mission trip to a third-world country. I traveled with fourteen other missionaries to Kenya as part of the last Life Missions team to travel to Africa. Our goal was to educate the Kenyans about disease prevention and to share the word of Christ. A lofty goal and one which seemed far from my grasp. Change the World: Recovering the Message and Mission of Jesus

Something is not working. Despite the church's place of prominence in American culture and the ubiquity of the church in every American town, misconceptions about the faith of Jesus Christ run rampant today. Christians are known more for exclusivity than for love, more for potlucks than for solving world hunger.
